Using Hypnosis For Health And Improvement
by Paul Segnate

For many years, hypnosis has been used as a tool for
helping others to remember certain events or to explore
significant phases of their lives. This form of science,
which was once dismissed as being nothing more than an
instrument to be used for those who were on the therapist's
couch, is now a significant tool in many areas of law
enforcement, personal improvement and relaxation.

Law enforcement agencies use hypnosis to help witnesses or
victims of crimes remember the details of the crime. These
hypnosis sessions are done in the police department using a
video camera for safety and security. The entire episode is
recorded as the camera is focused on the witness or victim.
This film is then used by investigators to ferret out the
details of the crime or by the prosecutors to pursue their
line of questioning.

Details that may have been overlooked in prior
questioning will be revealed through hypnosis , so, in many
instances, the victims of a crime will themselves ask if
they can participate in a hypnosis session to jar their
memory about the details of their attackers, or remember
more about the crime. This powerful tool often helps police
trace a crime to a perpetrator.Sometimes, it only takes one
or two hypnosis sessions to get the information necessary
for a major break though in a criminal investigation. A law
enforcement agency may continue to use hypnosis until they
feel they have learned all that they can. (If the witness
or victim is willing.)

Most of the time, however, hypnosis is used for breaking
bad habits and self-improvement. There are many goals that
may be achieved through professional hypnosis, and the most
common are to stop smoking, lose weight, or just get rid
of an annoying habit like nail biting. This kind of hypnosis
requires a few sessions, since what is involved is actually
a form of "brain-washing", involving reprogramming of the
patient's behavior in this area. New behavior is introduced
and then remaining sessions reinforce the behavior.

Hypnosis can also be used for the purposes of achieving a
certain level of relaxation. For instance, those who
suffer from agoraphobia fear of public places and/or
crowds feel the grip of terror so intensely that it's
impossible for them to relax. Hypnosis can not only help
them past this debilitating condition, but can also teach
them relaxation techniques that they can continue to use
after the Master Hypnotist is long gone. Since the effects
of agoraphobia are nothing less than devastating to an
individual's life, this is a kind of life-saving tool for
those who are afflicted with such a merciless condition.

While a hypnotist is needed to initiate and guide these
sessions please be sure that you accept nothing less than
an individual who's a Certified Master Hypnotist they
often teach the participant how to bring about
self-hypnosis in order to bolster themselves against
whatever plagues them during those times of human weakness.
Done properly, hypnosis is quite safe and can be the
catalyst for those changes which are necessary to improve
the human condition.
